Ghost Light Project

Several flashlights lit up the street outside of Modern Theatre as The Suffolk University Theatre Community gathered together to participate in The Ghostlight Project. On Jan. 19th, all across the country members of the theatre community gathered outside of theatre’s at 5:30 pm to shine their lights into the sky. According the The Ghostlight Project’s website the shining lights serve a symbolic purpose, especially since the project was held on the eve of the presidential inauguration. “We will gather outside of theaters to create a “light” for dark times ahead, and to make, or renew, a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, age, gender identity, or sexual orientation,” according to the project’s website.
